I can't believe what a small world it is -- and I even went to Citizen Cake for the first time after class yesterday!  

Thanks for clearing up the black olives/ basil marshmallow issue....   Both desserts sound great.  I'm tempted to try my hand at the basil marshmallow next time I get strawberries....

I was the pastry chef at Citizen Cake who used candied black olives and basil marshmallow.  They were not used together though.  The black olives were served with a walnut date strudel, halva ice cream, and ouzo syrup.  The basil marshmallow was served with strawberries.
I can't wait to try the marmelade we made in class today!
