but how did they taste? i’m afraid they sound kind of heavy.

They were good — kind of like pancakes with built-in butter.
They were just as rich as pound cake would be, but since my pancakes were small, one of them was probably a smaller serving than an average slice of a loaf. I wouldn’t make pound cake batter specifically for these, but it might fit in well in a plated dessert as a cake component. It was also cool to cook them in a few minutes, as opposed to a regular pound cake that would take almost an hour.
