Weekly BonBonBar Photo: Cutting Passion Fruit Marshmallows
I thought that it would be fun to post a picture every week from my work in the kitchen over the weekend… On Sunday night, the marshmallows went from strips to cubes, 4 at a time, courtesy of my chef’s knife. I’d love to get a guitar to cut them quickly and neatly, but at least my knife skills are getting a work out… and there’s a certain zen to trying to make perfect cubes by hand.

Hee, those marshmallows definitely look nicer than the peppermint cocoa ones I made in pastry class - I didn’t spread mine quick enough and so the tops weren’t very smooth -___-||. Mmm, and I wonder if your passionfruit marshmallows pair well with a cup of milk tea.
Anyway, I really like the idea of being able to see how your work is like in the kitchen. It just feels as if the reader is interacting with you in some way.

Ha, well, as long as were tasty, hopefully the rough tops weren’t too distracting! I’ve gotten pretty handy smoothing it out, though there is always the fear of setting fast. I use a large offset for the initial spread, then a smaller one to work out any uneven areas… quickly.
And I’m glad that you like this idea — I’ve felt like a slacker for not showing pictures of food that I make recently b/c I don’t have time to make too much at home anymore… but then I thought, um, I make tons of food every weekend! And this way, someone’s pf mallows were the star of this pic.

even looking at a photo of them makes my mouth water!!! they are OUTSTANDINGLY DELICIOUS!!! and as quoted by a friend w/ whom i shared a few of them, “they are to die for!!!” i concur!!!!

i only shared my very coveted passion fruit marshmallows with her because she’s a very good friend. and, i knew she would enjoy them as much as i do. and, she did! no surprise there! i’ve never been a big fan of marshmallows. but, with this unique flavor, which i don’t know if anyone else has thought of using in marshmallows besides you, once i tried it, i was in blown away at how rich yet light your marshmallows are, yet having this great intense passion fruit flavor, which i repeat, are to die for!!! YUM!!!!
