Coming Soon: The Orange Bar

Just in time for Easter, I will be releasing my new Orange Bar. It’s not quite finalized yet, but it will probably involve Caramel, Nougat made with Orange Blossom Honey, Roasted Almonds (edit: Pecans), Candied Orange Peel, Muscovado Sugar, and possibly spices such as Cinnamon and Cardamom. The organic oranges and orange blossom honey are sourced locally from Farmers Markets, and I hope that the bar represents them well, esp since oranges are such a part of Southern Californian culture. I want to emphasize the different flavors and affinities of oranges in the bar.

Stay Tuned! :)

Hooray! I’m looking forward to it. (I had such a jones for nougat recently my husband gave me some Valerie Confections lemon/hazelnut nougat for Valentines and I placed an order for some Nutpatch Nougat from Tasmania … I need more nougat!)

Yum! Yay! I need to order up some scotch bars, but these sound delicious, and will be a perfect gift for a co-worker. I will need to hold some back for testing, of course…

Wow, this sounds awesome - caramel, nougat and something citrusy. I made some lavender honey and added it to a genoise batter and some buttercream for a celebration cake project yesterday, and they turned out great with a subtle floral hint from the honey. Can’t wait to try your new product. Mmm, somehow nougat does remind me of Spring/Easter.

Cybele - Oooh, actually, I want to try Nutpatch Nougat myself. :)

    Tania - :) Yeah, it’s tough on the giftgivers…

Dreamsicle - That cake sounds so good. Honey gives such a nice floral hint, almost like a perfume at the end of the taste. And there is oddly Easter-y about whipped confections — nougat and marshmallows… I wonder if it’s mostly thanks to Peeps…
