The Orange Bar is Now for Sale
My fourth handmade candy bar is now available at BonBonBar! The Orange Bar has a layer of slow-roasted pecans in an orange blossom honey nougat topped by a layer of chewy caramel enhanced by diced candied orange peel. It’s dipped in dark chocolate and garnished with a slice of candied orange peel rolled in a mix of muscovado and granulated sugars. The orange blossom honey, organic oranges, and pecans are from the Santa Monica Farmers’ Market.
I wanted this candy bar to be a little different from other orange and chocolate combinations by playing up orange’s affinity for dark sugar flavors, even in the midst of dark chocolate. I hope people enjoy it! Along with Vanilla and Passion Fruit Marshmallows, they’re a pretty nifty treat for Easter.
And this bar has changed the configuration of my boxed assortments. Instead of the Malt Bar in dark and milk chocolate, you have a choice of which you want… and an Orange Bar in place of the other one.

Looks lovely! Be sure to let us know when you’ve got a Canadian distributor (if that day should ever come). In the meantime, I’ll be sure to make note of where to find your confections, should I ever be in the Napa area.

Oh wow, the play of textures … this looks like a really indulgent bar! Definitely not for the weak.

ghanima - Thanks! Yeah, I hope to work my way to Canada eventually.
dreamsicle - Yeah, it’s definitely different from, say, a grand marnier truffle! It has some different kinds of chew… and while the main flavor is orange, it’s not just orange… the different sugar flavors contribute something pretty unique; I think there’s even a suggestion of spice, even though there isn’t any. I hope people like it, but it’s probably not going to be what they expect!

OK! I’ve ordered but please tell me there will be someplace out in the Valley that I can just pick your stuff up at sometime soon. ;>

Wow. I stumbled across this site after typing a search for orange peel in google. This is the most incredible looking piece of chocolate I’ve ever seen. Too bad I’m in Connecticut..
