Sometimes, I really like the sample, but I just don't need anymore (I don't usually eat large portions), or if I don't like the sample, then walk on. I think that part of the celebrity chef phenomenon has to do with people just wanting to know who's involved with their food. Ask - Yeah, that's true. I've been hesitant about it b/c it'll change when I can finally hire someone.... but I really should take advantage of that "it's just me" fact while I can. And when I hire someone, I'd be happy to have them and their personality known, too. Aaron - It's amazing how much time this business takes! Technically, it's only part-time, but there's ALWAYS something to do that needs to be done. I guess doing it alone is part of that. I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ben & Jerry still tries to sell on the story about two guys in a garage or wherever they made icecream. And it’s a good story — but for you it’s both true and right now. :-)

I just went to the SF Chocolate Salon this weekend and was wowed by some of the chocolates I sampled there as well. A lot of times I would be hesitant to try a new product initially (it's part of human nature after all), but once I know that care and devotion has been put into it, I'd be really impressed and want to try it. I guess some of the shoppers were feeling the same way. I'm sure this has been a pleasant experience for you. Good luck with more of your in-store demos and chocolate-making.
