Screenplay
I wrote a screenplay called DO THE FACE during my Hollywood years that never quite got sold. Instead of letting it rest in my hard drive, I thought that I’d make it available to whoever would like to read it. I finished it almost a year ago and have no plans to do anything with it now, but a lot of people enjoyed reading it…. and I hope you do, too.
Below is a version of a query letter that worked pretty well with production companies. It describes what it’s all about… and it’s not food.

Dear Reader,
I would like to submit my screenplay DO THE FACE for your consideration.
What do Monica Lewinsky, Amy Fisher, and Anna Nicole Smith have in common? They’re all famous for their choices of men. But what happens when such women try to get on with their lives? Who have they become? What else can they ever be?
And who will date them?
DO THE FACE is a fictional romantic comedy about a young woman named Candy Hunter who attempts to find genuine love after a high-profile sex scandal turns her into an infamous celebrity. It’s five years after the affair, and although the whole world will always think of her as a flake/slut, Candy still has to struggle with relationships and her career like any other mid-20’s urban girl. The story is a light-hearted look at celebrity and growing up.
I am a graduate of Northwestern University’s film program, and as a former assistant at CAA and MGM Studios, I know what it’s like to be inundated by scripts. I treasured the rare occasion of simply reading a good one. Hopefully, DO THE FACE will be a bright spot in the weekend read pile.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Nina
